Community involvement

The FM Global Foundation

With more than 50 offices and nearly 5,000 employees around the world, FM Global understands the importance of being a good neighbour and the value of community involvement. We take our everyday social responsibilities to the communities we call home seriously, and realise our contributions can make a difference in times of need.

Through the FM Global Foundation, worldwide FM Global and its employees raise and donate millions of dollars and hundreds of volunteer hours to support the communities in which we work and live. In the UK the foundation provides an employee matching gift programme for employees' fund raising activities.

Recent FM Global fund raising activities and community involvement by our employees include:

  • Thames Valley Hospice which provides palliative care
  • Women's Aid, a national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children;
  • Ripple Africa which is involved with education, healthcare and environmental projects in Malawi

FM Global fire prevention grant programme

Because we believe that the majority of fire can be prevented, FM Global is pleased to offer financial support to organisations working to combat fire. Through our new Fire Prevention Grant Programme, fire departments and brigades, as well as national, state, regional, local and community organisations can apply for funding to support a wide array of fire prevention, preparedness and control efforts, including:

Pre-fire planning for industrial, commerical and institutional facilities
Fire and arson prevention and investigation
Fire prevention education and training programmes
